NSW White Card Course
CPCWHS1001 Prepare To Work Safely In The Construction Industry (White Card training) mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work. It is designed for people who access operational construction zones (unaccompanied or not directly supervised by an inducted person) workers whose employment causes them to routinely enter operational construction zones.
Participants must be at least 14 years to take this course, 100 points I.D. are required on the day of the course.
Kingsbridge College (RTO 46047) is authorised by SafeWork NSW to deliver NSW White Card Course.
Introduction
Course Content
The competency unit CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry is a training program that provides workers in the construction industry with an awareness and understanding of:
- demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements
- work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others
- identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards
- basic risk control measures
- identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies
- correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work
LLN (language, literacy and numeracy)
- This course combines plain English, photos, and questioning to ensure all learners are able to have the best possible chance at comprehending the required knowledge and skills. language, literacy and numeracy that are essential to performance.
- LLN ((language, literacy and numeracy) skills will be assessed prior to entry to the course.

Assessment
Assessment will confirm knowledge and skills have been achieved to demonstrate competency across the unit. Assessment will be in accordance with the Principles of Assessment and the Rules of Evidence.
Participants are offered multiple opportunities to demonstrate knowledge and skills throughout the course. If a participant is not successful in completing all assessments satisfactorily, they will need to rebook the course at the full course fee.

6 hours classroom assessment in form of:
- written theory questions
- case study scenarios
- practical skills demonstration

How long is the card valid for?
This card does not expire, however if you have not worked on a construction for 2 years or more, SafeWork NSW recommends attending a course to update your skills and knowledge.
